Another spectator thinks of a number from 1 to 52, and the deck that has been in full view is handed to the participant, who counts down to the chosen number. The card lying at the number MATCHES the inscription on the reverse of the chip.

As usual, Wayne has pared back the methodology and built in subtleties that cover any discrepancies that might otherwise be introduced and make the effect as clean as a whistle.
