Have you ever observed something so visual and so bizarre, you thought you had just watched a CGI effect? That’s exactly what your spectators will experience with Unbent.
EFFECT:
A card is freely selected and signed on the face (no force). You tell your audience that gamblers who cheat will sometimes mark cards-but not on the face like the spectator just did, because that would be too obvious. You turn their signed card over, and explain that a cheating gambler will often subtly mark the back of a card with a slight bend or crease. This move makes it easier to locate certain cards, and you flex and bend their card to demonstrate this. You suddenly stop, almost out of embarrassment, and show the back of their card now has a very noticeable and prominent white line on it, because you overdid it by bending it too much. Not a very subtle marking at all! You then ask them to watch the back of their card, for what they’re about to witness can only be described as pure magic-like a special effect brought to life. With a gentle shake of the card, the white crease becomes unbent, as you visibly “heal” the back of the card, and restore it to normal right before their eyes! Immediately, you turn the card over to show their signature is still on the face and give it to them as a souvenir of a truly visual and magical experience!
